The Victorian Government has a range of projects currently underway that are helping build the sustainable State.

Alpine 2020 - a strategy to guide the long term management of Victoria’s six alpine resorts, so they can continue to be economic, environmental and social assets

Melbourne 2030 - a 30 year transport and land-use planning strategy that’s making sure the city and its suburbs develops in a sustainable way.

Our Forests, Our Future - a program to ensure a sustainable future for both Victoria’s native forests and the timber industry, reducing logging by 31 percent and providing an $80 million assistance package to the sector.

Our Water, Our Future - an action plan to secure Victoria's water for the next 50 years.

Towards Zero Waste - a 10 year plan for reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill and cutting resource costs.

Victoria’s Biodiversity Strategy - preventing further loss of Victoria’s unique plant and animal species.

Victorian Coastal Strategy - a plan for the long term sustainable management of the coast.

Victorian Greenhouse Strategy -59 initiatives aimed at ultimately reducing Victoria’s greenhouse gas emissions by 8.3 million tonnes, roughly the equivalent of taking three-quarters of all cars off our roads.

The Victorian Local Sustainability Accord - a landmark partnership agreement to strengthen cooperative efforts between local governments and the Victorian Government on environmental sustainability.

Victorian River Health Strategy - a blueprint for restoring our rivers back to full health and managing them better in the long term.
