Negotiations over the price of Native Vegetation Credits are currently conducted one-on-one between the landowner and permit holder. BushBroker is not involved in these negotiations but will record information such as new details of the Native Vegetation Credits and prepare the BushBroker Landowner Agreements and BushBroker Credit Agreements.

Landowners can approach the process in a number of ways:
Average BushBroker Credit Agreement prices
Prices for Native Vegetation Credits are set through the market. Because of the ‘like-for-like’ requirements for offsets, the market is segmented in terms of vegetation types, habitat types, conservation significance and bioregions. The demand for particular credit types will depend mainly upon the amount and location of approved clearing that requires offsetting.

Over 100 BushBroker Credit Agreements (Agreements) have been completed to date, and while these are across five Victorian bioregions, the majority of Agreements have been in the Victorian Volcanic Plains and Goldfields bioregions.

Table 1 provides a summary of the Agreements in these bioregions. This includes the approximate average price per Habitat Hectare and the range of prices per Habitat Hectare for 80% of the agreements in that bioregion. This information should be used with caution.
