Background
BushBroker is a program which assists permit holders to locate third party (off-site) offsets. Under BushBroker, landowners have the opportunity to generate Native Vegetation Credits, which are listed on the statewide BushBroker Database and the Native Vegetation Credit Register.

Most native vegetation clearance works approved under a planning permit must have an appropriate offset. BushBroker offers the person or company planning to clear a site (known as the permit holder),a convenient and cost-effective way to locate offsets if they are unable to create offsets on their own property (on-site or first party offsets).

Permit holders seeking offsets can request searches of the BushBroker Database for Native Vegetation Credits that match their requirements. If one or more matches are found, BushBroker will provide the landowner information to the permit holder. The permit holder then needs to make a price agreement with a landowner to have their name recorded against a Native Vegetation Credit in the Native Vegetation Credit Register.

Before a permit holder can record thier name against a Native Vegetation Credit to satisfy an offset requirement, the Credit needs to be registered on the Native Vegetation Credit Register.

Permit holders seeking Native Vegetation Credits are advised to check the acceptability of potential offsets with the responsible authority (usually the local council) or the referral authority (Department of Sustainability and Environment - DSE) before finalising a BushBroker Credit Agreement.

You can register your BushBroker Offset Search Request by completing the appropriate forms below for the type of offset sought:
