Transfers from Melbourne Airport to City (CBD)

Delegates who have enrolled in the pre-conference workshop to be held at Melbourne University on Monday December 1, can get there from Melbourne Airport via Skybus or Taxi.

Skybus

Skybus offers a shuttle bus service from the airport to the Melbourne CBD and city hotels. This service operates 24 hours, 7 days. Buses run every 10-15 minutes throughout the day and every 30-60 minutes overnight. Skybus Hotel Shuttle operates from the city 0600-2200 Monday to Friday and 0730-1830 Saturday and Sunday.
  • Adult tickets cost $15 one way / $24 return
  • A family ticket (2 adults and 1-4 children) costs $30 one way / $50 return
  • A family flexi ticket (1 adult and 1-4 children) costs $20 one way / $30 return
  • A child ticket costs $5 one way
You can purchase and print your ticket online or from ticket booths at Southern Cross Station (city terminal), and at Melbourne Airport Tullamarine (external link) terminal T1 and T3. Skybus can be contacted on (+61 3) 9335 2811 or visit the Skybus (external link) website for more information.

Airport Taxis

Taxis are available from the ground floor level of Melbourne Airport, outside both the International and Domestic Terminals. Expect to pay around A$40 to A$45 for a one way trip from Melbourne Airport to the CBD.

Transfers from Avalon Airport to City (CBD)

For those who chooses to fly in to Avalon Airport (external link) as an alternative to Melbourne Airport, there are also similar transportation options available. Under the 'Public Transport' option, you can choose to travel by Sunbus (external link), Avalon Airport Shuttle (external link) or even by train at Lara station (a few kilometres away from Avalon Airport) via V-Line (external link).

Travelling between Melbourne and Marysville

Buses will be available to transfer delegates to and from Marysville according to the scheduled times as outlined in the registration form (PDF 47Kb).

Going from Melbourne Airport to Marysville

Transport from Melbourne Airport to Marysville will be scheduled at 9:30 am on Tuesday, 2 December .

Going from the Workshop to Marysville

Transport to Marysville is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 December. Delegates (and companions) can choose to board the bus at Southern Cross Station (pick-up at 9:15 am) or at Melbourne University Parkville Campus (pick-up at 9:30 am).

Returning from Marysville to Melbourne

Return transport to Melbourne Airport or Southern Cross Station (Melbourne City) will also be arranged for the afternoon of Friday 5 December (departing Marysville at approximately 1:30 pm). The bus will be scheduled to arrive at Melbourne Airport and Southern Cross Station at 3:30 pm and 3:40 pm respectively.

If you wish to to take advantage of these services, you will need to make this known by ticking the approriate boxes in the registration form (PDF 47Kb). This will greatly assist us in organising transport for you. Delegates are advised that they should arrive at the bus terminals at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure times.

Travelling by Car

Travelling by car to Marysville may take between 1.5 hours from Eastern Suburbs and 2 hours from Western Suburbs. For a comprehensive set of directions please refer to the following link (external link). Rental cars (external link) can be arranged at Melbourne Airport. There are five car rental companies located on-site. All have offices on the ground floor of the Short Term Car Park, and information desks in the Melbourne Airport domestic terminals.

Travelling by Bus outside scheduled times

If you would like to travel from Melbourne to Marysville or vice versa at your own time, McKenzie's Tourist Services provides buses to Marysville via route 684 (Melbourne-Healesville-Marysville-Alexandra-Eildon).
