The maps assist in defining the boundaries of the North Eastern ACCA. Note that the ACCA covers the entire coloured area.

The restrictions on the use of prohibited chemicals in the North Eastern ACCA apply between the 1 September and the 30 April of the following year (including both days).

Chemicals prohibited by the specified method of application

Chemical Prohibited method
  • Any formulation of Picloram
  • Hexazinone applied as a liquid
  • Products containing Sulfometuron Methyl
  • Ester formulations of Triclopyr
Aerial spraying or mister application
  • Ester formulations of 2,4-D, 2,4-DB or MCPA
All methods of application

Chemicals prohibited unless an ACCA permit* has been granted

  • Any formulation of chlorsulfuron, clopyralid, glyphosate or metsulfuron methyl
  • Any amine formulation of MCPA, MCPB, 2,4-D, 2,4-DB, dicamba, mecoprop or triclopyr

To determine if a chemical product contains any of these chemicals please read the chemical's label and accompanying information sheet or you can search the APVMA Pubcris website (external link).

Notes:
An ACCA permit is different to an Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP).

Mister definition: spraying equipment that uses air for dispersing the spray, including orchard sprayers, air blasters and air shear sprayers that produce droplets with a volume mean diameter not exceeding 100 micron but not air assisted boom sprayers, twin fluid nozzle sprayers or knapsack sprayers.

Description of area
The North Eastern Agricultural Chemical Control Area is all that area that includes:

- The Parishes of Barwidgee, Beechworth, Bright, Buckland, Bungamero, Carboor, Carraragarmungee, Carruno, Dandongadale, Dederang, Edi, Eurandelong, Everton, Freeburgh, Greta, Harrietville, Laceby, Morockdong, Moyhu, Mudgeegonga, Mullagong, Mullindolingong, Murmungee, Myrrhee, Myrtleford, Oxley, Porepunkah, Stanley, Taminick, Tarrawingee, Tawanga, Toombullup, Toombullup North, Wabonga, Wandiligong, Wermatong, Whitfield, Whitfield South, Whorouly, Winteriga; and

- That part of the Parish of Glenrowan north of Hume Freeway; that part of the Parish of Goorambat south of Lake Mokoan Road; that part of the Parish of Killawarra west of Wangaratta Yarrawonga Road; that part of the Parish of Mokoan south of Lake Mokoan Road; that part of the Parish of Peechelba bounded by Wangaratta Yarrawonga Rd to Tungamah Peechelba Rd and then to Forest Rd; that part of the Parish of Wangaratta North south-east of Hume Highway; that part of the Parish of Wangaratta South south-west of Wangaratta Yarrawonga Road; and that part of the Parish of Winton north of Hume Freeway.

Prohibited period
The period commencing on the1 September each year and ending on the 30 April of the following year (including both days).

Remember
All users of agricultural and veterinary chemicals, including ACUP holders, are required to keep specified records for all chemical products used within 48 hours of using the chemical product, and to keep these records for a period of two years.
