The Victorian Government, in partnership with the NSW Government, has commissioned this report to advance thinking on agriculture and greenhouse gas mitigation policies. The report identifies policies that can facilitate cost-efficient and innovative mitigation of greenhouse gases in the agriculture sector. Grain growers can access seasonal climate risk information in one easy location in "The Break". The newsletter describes credible seasonal outlooks, generates potential crop yields from decision support computer tools, provides links and highlights topical climate risk information.

The Bureau collects and uses data from satellites in the World Meteorological Organisation's World Weather Watch system. Division of Marine and Atmospheric Research (external link - CSIRO)
CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research provides scientific advice and solutions on issues involving the atmospheric environment and the climatic systems. Information on the site addresses topics such as urban and regional air pollution, acid deposition, the enhanced greenhouse effect, ozone depletion, climatic variability and severe weather.
Commonwealth Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (external link)
Develops and implements policies, programs and legislation for the protection and conservation of the environment, including both natural and cultural heritage places. It also manages a number of major programs, under the umbrella of the Natural Heritage Trust. These programs include Bushcare, Coasts and Clean Seas, the Endangered Species Program and Waterwatch. The Department also administers environmental laws, including the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and a range of other Acts. It is also responsible for Australia's participation in a number of international environmental agreements.
