Early Age Desexing of Puppies and Kittens
In late 2003, the Minister for Agriculture's Animal Welfare Advisory Committee and the Victorian Division of the Australian Veterinary Association coordinated a series of veterinary seminars throughout Victoria on early age desexing. The proceedings of those seminars were provided to all vets registered with the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria and are reproduced here.

New and significant legislation has come into effect in Victoria from 1 December 2005 regulating:

- The implantation of microchips
- Registration and operation of registries

Tail Docking of Dogs

The legislative requiremements are consistent with those for any prohibited procedure under the Victorian Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
