Until 30 June 2008 DPI Victoria strongly encourages event organisers who plan to run events to register their event at least 72 hours prior to the event being held. Should a situation arise while your event is running DPI will attempt to contact you to notify you.
Important note: Though recent changes to horse movement requirements have made it easier to bring horses into Victoria from New South Wales and Queensland, you are still encouraged to register your event.
If you are expecting competitors from New South Wales and/or Queensland you are encouraged to inform them of the need to acquire a Victorian Horse Entry Declaration (VHED). It is up to individual clubs if they want to check interstate competitors for a VHED, but it would contribute significantly to the protection, safety and peace of mind of all competitors involved.
Risk assessments have been undertaken and contingency plan has been developed.
