DPI Priorities for Action: "Water for Victoria's Agriculture 2005-2008"
This document sets out the Department's strategic aims for water management as it relates to agriculture. It focuses on a future in which farmers will:
- operate in a water-constrained environment, where water will be a tradeable resource that tends to move to higher value users;
- operate in a regulatory environment where they will have to ensure the wtaer that leaves their farms is fit for subsequent users.
DPI will work closely with our stakeholders in industry and rural communities over the next four years to help them meet these challenges.
