Regional Programs
Managing a small property is not easy when the majority of your time may be spent working elsewhere or living on another site. It can be doubly hard when you don’t know much about farming in the first place and have no idea who to talk to for advice or where to go for relevant information.
DPI is currently developing a program to provide information, advice and training for new, lifestyle landholders, who own land between 2 ha and 100 ha. (Approximately 5 – 250 acres), in three focus regions of Victoria. The regions are central Victoria (around Bendigo), North Eastern Victoria (around Benalla) and Gippsland (around Warragul) Victoria.
These 3 study regions incorporate the following Local Government Areas:
Central Victoria:
Hepburn, Central Goldfields, Mount Alexander, City of Greater Bendigo, Macedon Ranges
North Eastern Victoria:
Mitchell, Strathbogie, Benalla, Mansfield, Indigo, Wangaratta
Gippsland:
Baw Baw, Cardinia, South Gippsland, Yarra Ranges, Bass coast
